iD : identity : id : internal dialogue : intentional dance

Starting July 3, 2008, Thursdays, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, EXCEPT the 2nd Thursday of every month. Please email malcolm(dot)8(at)gmail(dot)com or call 604-872-6267 for TOP SECRET Vancouver location!

*May add a Monday, 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, session – please let me know, if this is a better time for you.

All too often, we forget or ignore the fact that EVERYTHING we know is learned via the body and its senses, let alone that 50 to 90% of communication is done physically and/or via vocal tone. Is it a luxury to spend time dancing and maintaining your relationship with your physical self – or just smart?

Format:
The only real rule will be no judgment.

Participants are invited to deejay sessions by creating playlists on portable music players or burning CDs/DVDs. Movement, meditation, vocalization, costumes: whatever works for you, works for us! All levels and permutations of physical, emotional and spiritual identity welcome.

iD incorporates ideas from 5 Rhythms, Kundalini Dance, Dance Dance Party Party, yoga and other body-mind and achievement oriented philosophies.

Dress comfortably. Bring some water. Be ready to sweat.

Cost: By Donation.

    About

Back in the day, Second City did an awesome skit called “Tex and Edna Boil’s Organ Emporium”. In honour of this most excellent of comedy troupes, I have named this Intentional Dance site after this skit. Laughing is better than crying and movement without laughter is like an old sock you find in the rain.
