Well, Mike, Juli and I kept it real this evening. How come you didn’t join us?!

Here is Selector Juli’s AWESOME wave. A “wave” is a way of structuring dance music according to Gabriel Roth’s 5 Rhythms. The set starts flowing, then moves through staccato, chaotic and lyrical beats, ending with stillness. Juli’s was beautiful! Fun. Inspiring. Thanks, Juli!

Remember that next week is the 2nd Thurs. of the month, so there is no iD :. But the following week, Aug. 21, we’ll be there. Please come!

Well, last night was a bit sparse, with just Juli and I, but we were inspired by the new playlist direction and danced until 9 pm anyway. I want to start posting weekly playlists here. Below, is last night’s:

Thanks to April, Juli, Karen, Felicity and Mike for joining me for the second ID :! I am humbled, not only by the amount of work it takes to get something like this off the ground, but by the movement, energy, vocalization and advice you all gave.

Thanks for the awesome feedback. I will add more “oomph”, bassier, maybe trancier music, and drum and bass to the next playlist, as well as mixing it up more (instead of focussing on minimal techno/house).

If anyone wants to do a playlist, LET ME KNOW! That is part of the ID : mandate and I’d be delighted to get a playlist from any participant.
